About this policy
This policy explains how Target Home Inspection Co. uses cookies and similar browser storage on targetinspectionsflorida.com. It covers browser storage only. For how we handle the information you send us, including SMS and MMS communications, see our Privacy Policy.
What cookies and browser storage are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep, and hands back to that website on later visits. “Local storage” and “session storage” do a similar job: they let a site save a small amount of information in your browser, rather than on our servers. Local storage stays until it is cleared; session storage is dropped when you close the tab or browser session.
We use these to keep the site working the way you expect — remembering your cookie choice and your accessibility settings — and, only if you agree, to measure how the site is used.
The categories we use
Strictly necessary storage. These are the items the site needs to function and to respect the preferences you have set. They are set by this website, they are not used to track you across other sites, and they are always on — including if you decline on the banner. Everything in the table below falls into this category.
Analytics. These help us understand how visitors find and use the site — which pages get read, and where people arrive from. We use Google Analytics 4 (property G-BTDCEXJVWC), and nothing analytics-related loads until you choose Accept: if you decline, or simply ignore the banner, the Google Analytics script is never added to the page and no analytics request is made at all. Once you do accept, any cookies it sets are set by Google under Google's own terms, and their names and lifetimes are determined by Google rather than by us.
We do not run advertising cookies. This site has no advertising or remarketing tags, and no tag manager container. Nothing here builds an advertising profile of you or follows you to other sites.
What this site stores in your browser
These are the named items this website itself writes. All three are strictly necessary, and none of them contain your name, your contact details, or anything that identifies you personally.
| Name | Type | Category | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
tif-cookie-consent | Local storage | Strictly necessary | Remembers whether you clicked Accept or Decline on the cookie banner, so we can honour that choice and stop showing you the banner. | Until you clear your browser's site data |
tif-a11y-v2 | Local storage | Strictly necessary | Stores the accessibility settings you pick in the accessibility tool — text size, contrast, reading mask and the rest — so they stay applied across pages and visits. | Until you clear your browser's site data |
tif-pricing-modal-seen | Session storage | Strictly necessary | Notes that the pricing pop-up has already been shown, so you only see it once per browsing session instead of on every page. | Until you close the browser tab or session |
Third-party content embedded on our pages
Some features on this site are provided by other companies and are displayed inside our pages. When one of these loads, the provider may set its own cookies or storage under its own privacy and cookie policies, which you can read on each provider's website. We do not control what they store or how long they keep it. They are:
- Spectora — the online scheduling tool embedded on our scheduling page
- Google Maps — the map embeds showing our office location
Our customer reviews are not one of them. They are stored on this site and rendered by us, so reading them loads no third-party code and sets no third-party cookies or storage.
If you would rather not load them at all, you can call or email us instead — you never have to use the online scheduler to book an inspection.
How consent works here
This site uses Google Consent Mode v2 and starts from a deny-by-default position: analytics storage is set to denied before anything else runs. On top of that, the Google Analytics script itself is not added to the page until you accept — so declining is not merely a signal, it means the tag never loads.
On your first visit, a short banner appears in the bottom-left corner of the screen with two choices:
- Accept — analytics storage is switched on, Google Analytics loads, and your choice is saved so the banner does not return.
- Decline — they stay off, and your choice is saved so the banner does not return.
If you close the page or ignore the banner without choosing, nothing is granted — analytics storage stays denied and Google Analytics is never loaded. The strictly necessary items in the table above are unaffected either way.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
Your choice is saved in your browser, so it is your browser that controls it. Clearing this site's data — usually under Settings, then Privacy, then Cookies and site data, or via “Clear browsing data” — removes the saved choice along with the other items in the table above. The banner will then appear again on your next visit and you can decide differently.
Note that clearing site data also resets your saved accessibility settings and the pricing pop-up, since those live in the same browser storage.
Your browser also has its own controls for blocking or deleting cookies generally, and most offer a private or incognito window that discards everything when you close it. Blocking storage entirely may stop parts of this site, and embedded tools such as the online scheduler, from working properly.
